It was part of Gandhi's philosophy to have regard for others faith. His outlook
arose from his own principles of truth and non-violence. He saw the truth behind all
religious faith. His love for humanity taught him to treat all as his brothers. This was
the basis of his scholarism which we have accepted as the creed of the republic of
India. It was his firm faith in the twin concept that made untouchability hateful to
him. He cried out in great pain that if Hindustan did not give up untouchability it had
no future. We who are the inheritors of his teachings should search our heart and see
how far we have honoured Gandhi's philosophy in our day-to-day life.
