Solution :-

Let the age of Maya and liya be y and x

According to the question,

Maya is three times old as Liya

x = 3y eq( 1 )

After five years, She will be twice as old as liya

That is,

( x + 5) = 2(y + 5 )

x + 5 = 2y + 10

x - 2y = 10 - 5

x - 2y = 5

x - 2y - 5 = 0 eq( 2 )

Subsitute eq ( 1 ) in eq( 2 )

3y - 2y - 5 = 0

y - 5 = 0

y = 5

Now,

Subsitute the value of y in eq( 1 )

x = 3( 5)

x = 15

Hence, The present age of Maya is 15 years and age of liya is 5 years $.$
