Let the total number of pages be x.

Then, Pages read on Monday is 10.

And,  \: Pages  \:  \: read  \:  \: on \:  \:  Tuesday  =  \frac{(x - 10)}{3}

Now,

10 +  \frac{x - 10}{3}  + 24 = x \\  \\ 34 +  \frac{x - 10}{3}  = x \\  \\  \frac{102 + x - 10}{3}  = x \\  \\  \frac{92 + x}{3}  = x \\  \\ 92 + x = 3x \\  \\ 92 = 3x - x \\ 92 = 2x \\ x =  \frac{92}{2}  \\ x = 46

Hence, The Novel had 46 pages in whole.
