let the initial salary of Mayur is Rs 100,

after increase of 30%, Mayur's new salary becomes 100+(100*(30/100))=Rs.130

this new salary was then decreased by 30%

= 130 - (130*(30/100)) = Rs. 91

therefore, net % change in salary = ((100-91)/100)*100 = 9%
