Given :

'a' is a integer

To Find :

Which of the following is correct

(i)|a|=a

(ii)|a|<a

(iii)|a|>a

(iv)|a|>a

Solution :

•Since a is a integer so it can be both negative & positive

•Case -1 : 'a' is negative integer

for eg. -5

Now , |-5| = 5

Since , 5 > -5

Hence, |-5| > -5

=> |a| > -a

•Case 2 : 'a' is positive integer

For eg. 5

Now , |5| = 5

So, |a| = a

• For an integer 'a', |a| may be greater or equal to a, it depends on weather a is positive or negative.

• Hence , none among the given options are correct
