Sertoli cells are referred as the nurse cells. These cells secrete the products which can provide nourishment to the sperm cells after spermatogenesis. There are also certain factors and hormones released by these cells.

The Leydig cells are the interstitial cells stimulated by the luteinizing hormone (LH) to produce the hormone testosterone. The hormone is responsible for the development of the secondary male sexual characters.
