Example no .1

Find the mean of the data : 27,36,40,51,62,68,75,82,90,95

Answer ⬇

Here , EX=27+36+40+51+62 68+75+82+90+95=626

And (N)=10

:- Mean = Ex ÷N

= 626÷10

= 62.6

Example no.2

let the data 8,22,15,6,10

Answer ⬇

Sum of the observations= 8+22+15+6+10=61

Number of observations=5

Mean = Sum of the observations ÷ number of observations

= 61÷5

=12.2

Example no. 3

Find the mean of the data:

x /5 /10/15/20/25
---------------------------------
f/6 /14/18/9 /5

Efx= 5×6+10×14+15×18+20×9+25×5

=30+140+270+180+125=745

And N = Ex= 6+14+18+9+5=50

mean = Ex÷N

=745÷50

=14.9

Example no. 4

If the mean of the data 27,25,37,43,a,67,59,29,14,32 is 38.8 , find the value of a.

Answer,

Here, given data

27,25,37,43,a,67,59,29,14,32

Sum of observations = 27+25+37+43+a+67+59+29+14+32

= 333+a

Number of observations (N)= 10

Mean = Ex÷n

or, 38.8=333+a÷10

or, 388=333+a

or,a= 388 -333

:- a=55

Example no.5 is in atttachment.
