Concept

Mean is that the average of the given numbers and is calculated by dividing the sum of given numbers by the full number of numbers.

Given

Mean monthly temperature for a year was 30^\circ c , mean temperature from January to July was 33^\circ c and July to December was 28^\circ c.

Find

We have to search out the temperature of July.

Solution

Let x be the temperature of July.

we know that mean is

\text{average}=\frac{\text{Sum of all numbers}}{\text{Total numbers}}

Now, we'll find the temperature of July by substituting values

\begin{aligned}30^\circ&=\frac{33^\circ +28^\circ+x}{3}\\ 90^\circ&=61^\circ+x\\ x&=29^\circ\end{aligned}

Hence, the temperature of July is 29^\circ.
