Given:-

  • Mean of 10 observations is 58 and 5 is subtracted from each observation.

To Find:-

  • Then the mean of new observations.

Solution:-

Mean of 10 observations = 58

Sum of 10 observations = 58 × 10 = 580

If 5 is subtracted from all the observations,

Sum of 10 observations = 580 - (58 × 5)

= 580 - 290

Sum of 10 observations = 290
