Given :  Mean of 100 numbers was found to be 50. But later on, it was observed that one of the number 150 was wrongly taken as 50.

To Find : The correct mean

Solution:

Mean of 100 numbers was found to be 50

Mean  =  Total / Number

=> 50 = Total / 100

=> Total  = 5000

it was observed that one of the number 150 was wrongly taken as 50

Hence 50 has to be subtracted from total and 150 to be added

=> Correct total = 5000 - 50 + 150

= 5100

Correct Mean = 5100/100

= 51

Correct Mean = 51
