Mean of 17, 4, 8, 6, 15 is m'and median of 8, 14, 10, 5, 7, 20, 19, n is
(m-1). Find the values of m’and n'​

m = 10, n = 8

= 4+6+8+15+17 / 5

median is the middle term when arranged in ascending order. if even no of terms are there then the average of middle 2 terms gives the median.

AO = 5,7,8,10,n,14,19,20

median = 10+n / 2

given median = (m-1)

so , m-1 = 10+n / 2

then

9 = 10+n / 2

18 = 10+n

n = 8
