according to the question
mean = sum of observation/number of observation
17 = x/20
x = 17×20=340
now, if 25 is added to it's sum so the new observation = (340 + 25) / (20+25)
observation = 365 / 45
so , observation = 73/9

Answer:

365

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that mean of 20 observations is 17 .

Average = \frac{\text{Sum of all observations}}{\text{No. of observations}}

17 = \frac{\text{Sum of all observations}}{20}

17 \times 20 =\text{Sum of all observations}

340=\text{Sum of all observations}

Now we are given that 25 is added to the sum of observations

New Sum = 340+25=365

Hence the new sum is 365
