Mean of 50 observations was found to be 80.4. But Later on, it was discovered that 96 was misread as 69 at one place. Find the correct mean

so total number = 80.4 x 50 = 4020.

so 69 was misread at 96

so difference = 96-69 =27

so we subtract 27 from 4020 = 3933

so mean = 3933/50 = 79.86.
