Hey !!

Dissociation leads to increase in the number of solute particles in the solution resulting in an increase in the value of collgative property. is inversely related to the molecular mass, therefore molecular mass of such a substance is calculated from colligative property will be less than its normal value.

Example :- KCl is an electrolyte. When it is dissolved in water it dissociates into K⁺ and Cl⁻ ions and there would be double the number of particles if complete dissociation takes place. Hence, it is expected to have molecular mass 37.25 g (74.5/2)

                                 KCL ⇄ K⁺ + Cl⁻

Hope it helps you !!
