Given observations are :-

6 , 8 , 9 , 6 , 5 , 6 , 13 , 7 , p, 4 , 5 , 4 , 12

The mean of the given data is 7

Therefore

According to the question, we get :-

7 = 6 + 8 + 9 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 13 + 7 + p + 4 + 5 + 4 + 12 / 13

7 = 85 + p / 13

13 * 7 = 85 + p

91 = 85 + p

p = 91 - 85 = 6

Thus, The value of p is 6

Now,

we have to find the median of the given data

Therefore,

By using median formula , we get :-

Median of odd numbers

= ( n + 1 / 2 )

=( 13 + 1 / 2 )

= 14/2

= 7

Thus, The 7th observation that is 13 is the median of the given data.

Now,

Mode of the data = 6
