As per the data given in the above question.

we have to find the value of x.

Given ,

observations- x,3,4and 5

Mean- 3

we know that

Mean is the average of the given numbers and is calculated by dividing the sum of given numbers by the total number of numbers.

Mean =  \frac{Sum  \: of  \: all \:  the \:  observations}{Total  \: number  \: of  \: observations}

Put the values ,

3 =  \frac{x + 3 + 4 + 5}{4}

3 =  \frac{12 + x}{4}

Shift 4 toward 3 ,

12 = 12 + x

x = 12 - 12

x = 0

Hence,

value of x=0 and

option (d) none of these is correct.

Answer:

The value of x is 0, i.e., none of these.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given - the values 3, 4, 5 and x.
             mean of the values - 3
To find - the value of x

Solution -

We know that the mean, also called the average of the numbers, can be calculated by dividing the sum of all the numbers, and the total number of the numbers, i.e.,

Mean (\bar x) = \frac{\sum x_i}{\sum n}
Thus, by putting the values in the formula, we get

3 = \frac{3 + 4 + 5 + x}{4} \\\\3 = \frac{12 + x}{4}\\\\12 = 12 + x\\\\x = 0

Therefore, because the value of x is 0, the option (d) none of these would be the right answer.
