 {x}^{2 }  = 36 \\ x =  \sqrt{36}
so x=6

Here's the answer !!

We know that,

Mean Proportion = √ ab 

Here ' a ' and ' b ' are numbers given. So substituting them in the formula we get,

Mean Proportion = √ 9 × 4 = √ 36 = 6

Here for Mean proportion only Positive value of root is taken.

Hence 6 is the mean proportion of 4 and 9.
