It means that we should not decide our opinion (impression) of a person just by his/her looks. Looks should not be our criteria for creating a person's image.

Looks don't matter much, personality and behavior does.

eg- if you want to watch a movie which has just released then first you see that movies trailer.

From the trailer the movie is nice but after when your friends tell you that the movies trailer is nice but the movie is worst.

Then you say them that first you see the trailer it's very nice.

Then when you go to watch that movie it feels like yes my friends were right this movie is worst and then you waste hundreds of money for that movies ticket.

So from next time don't judge a book by its cover
