A gorge is a narrow valley with a steep and rocky wall, located within the hills and mountains. Over time this erosion forms steep walls of a gorge and the streams or the other increases their speeds, intensity and thus creates a wider and deeper gorge. An example is the Marble rocks near the Jabalpur.

As most gorges are located between the mountains, hills and near-desert plateaus. Georges forms due to the water erosion and the weathering and the geologic upliftment and the melting of glaciers.
