A historic climb is often used to refer to a noteworthy climbing activity. This is usually a climbing action that has been performed for the first time in history.

One of the best examples of historic climb so far is the scaling of Mt Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on 29 May, 1953.
