Meaning of magnitude in physics related to force

MAGNITUDE is just the amount of force acting on a body. (we don't consider the direction in which the force is acting if we have to calculate the magnitude of force)

FOR EXAMPLE....

F=i+j
=> magnitude of F=√(1^2+1^2)
=>magnitude of F=√2
but direction of F=tanθ =1/1
=>θ=tan^-1(1) =45°
