There are various kinds of industries in our country and the Industries are further classified into two major categories -

• Manufacturing Industries

• Service industry

Manufacturing Industries

• Micro Industries - Where the investment in plant and machinery is up to Twenty Five Lakh rupees only.

• Small Industries - Where the investment on plant and machinery exceeds 25 Lakh Rupees but does not exceed 5 Crore Rupees.

• Medium Industries - Where the investment on plant and machinery exceeds 5 crore rupees but not 10 Crore rupees.

Service Industry

• Micro Enterprise - Where the investment in the equipments required to provide the service does not exceed 10 Lakh Rupees.

• Small Enterprise - Where the investment on equipments exceed 10 lakh rupees but does not exceed 2 crore rupees.

• Medium Enterprise - Where the investment on equipments exceed 2 crore rupees but not 5 crore rupees.
