Mono means single and saccharide means carbohydrate that is sugar, hence the plant containing only one type of sugar molecule is called as monosaccharide plant. The saccharide is came from the word saccharine which is the name of a plant.This plant contains 250more times the normal sugar but even if we chew the leaf of this plant our sugar in the blood will not increase
