It refers to the contrast between the CITY and the ISLE LAKE OF INNISFREE as if you notice for city it’s written grey pavement where grey is referred to as a dull colour hence means that city is not a lively place to live and also seems very mountainous to the poet. Whereas for the INNISFREE he has used Purple glow where purple is referred to as a bright colour which hence mean that INNISFREE is a bright and lively place to live.
