When a person is sitting in a railway carriage which is moving very fast, the colourful stations of was appear picture-like as if they are painted.

EXPLANATION:

In the short poem “From a Railway Carriage”, Robert Louis Stevenson narrates his experiences of a railway journey when he was a small boy. From the child’s point of view he compares the movement of the railway carriage with supernatural element like fairies and witches. The railway journey catches his fantasy and everything feels as the carriage speeds by is like a picture perfect painting.

As the carriage speeds through the stations on its way, they appear to be painted pictures of fantasy coloured in different hues. He can hardly distinguish them as the train speeds by making them appear to be whistling at him.
