Explanation:

Prolonged summer

The unusually prolonged summer this year is worrying. However, we have been experiencing lengthened summers for the last two decades. As part of the erratic behaviour of nature, winter has virtually made an exit from our life. The only seasons that appear on time are summer and monsoon. Monsoon also behaves capriciously in some years, with sharp drop in rainfall.

Experts blame the prolonged summers on the ongoing climate change. In many countries in the Americas and the Asia-Pacific, climate change has long been periodically whipping up cyclones and hurricanes. Blissfully, we have been spared of great floods lately. But the spectre of sea-water level rise in the Bay hounds us.

Prolonged summers are the direct result of global warming, in which Bangladesh has no role.
