Gɪɴ:

A measuring cylinder contains water up to the level 46mL. The water level rises to 74 mL when a solid of mass 56g is immersed in it.

T Fɪɴᴅ:

The density of Solid = ?

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ:

A.T.Q,

Initial level of water v1 = 46 mL

Final level of water v2 = 74 mL

So,volume of rubber stopper v

= V2 V1

                            = 74 46

Volume of rubber stopper

v = 28 mL

N ,

we have

Density = mass / volume

          or, density = 56/28

          or, density = 1.6 g/mL

Therefore,

The Density of solid = 1.6 g/mL ✔︎
