Opisometer is an instrument used for measuring curvature or curbed lines of any length. It is also known as Meilograph, Curvimeter. By the help of this instrument one can measure the length of rivers, roads etc on maps.
In this device the line length is taken as the product of wheel circumference and teeth counted on wheel. British engineer named Edward Russell Morris had patented the early version of this device in 1873.
