Answer :-

First of all, what is D.N.A. replication ?

Ans - D.N.A. replication is the process through which the D.N.A. molecules in the cells of the parent organisms get duplicated to get passed on to the daughter cells.

The mechanism of D.N.A replication is as follows :-

The D.N.A. is copied by enzymes called "D.N.A. polymerases" which act on single stranded D.N.A., synthesizing a new strand of D.N.A., complementary to the original strand.

Extra Information :-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • D.N.A. replication is necessary because through this process, the genetic information present in the cells gets passed on to the daughter cells after the process of cell division.
  • The mechanism of D.N.A replication is the same in most of the organisms.
  • The differences in the characteristic features of organisms are because of the differences in the types of protiens and enzymes involved the replication of D.N.A.
