\huge\underline\purple{Answer:-}

Photorespiration is the process of light-dependent uptake of molecular oxygen (O2) concomitant with release of carbon dioxide (CO2) from organic compounds. The gas exchange resembles respiration and is the reverse of photosynthesis where CO2 is fixed and O2 released.

Answer:

Explanation:

Respiratory activity which occurs in plants during day time is called photorespiration.

Mechanism:

In the process of photorespiration,carbon dioxide is released and oxygen is absorbed.

The oxygen absorbed is not useful to produce energy such as ATP

In other words,photorespiration is a light dependent process during which oxygen is released and carbon dioxide is released.This oxygen is derived from early reactions of photosynthesis.

The enzyme involve in the whole process is rubisco.
