Two cells of equal e.m.f. E but of different internal resistances r1, and r2
are connected in parallel and the combination is conneted with an extemal
resistance R to obtain maximum power in R. Find the value of R.

Answer:

In this solution first we apply Ohm's law to find current in the circuit .

Effective emf of two cells = E + E = 2E

Effective resistance = R + r1 + r2

So the electric current is given by

I = E + E / R + r1 + r2

The potential difference across the terminals of the cell and putting it equal to zero.

aashleshaarsade: we need to find the value of external resistance R.
