Meena father age is 6 times Meena age. 5 yrs from now she will be 1 by 3 of her father age. What are their present ages.(by step by step explaination)

AT PRESENT

Let the age of Meena be x years.

Let the age of father of Meena be y years.

Age of Meena's father = 6 * Age of Meena

y = 6 * x

AFTER 5 YEARS,

Age of Meena = (x + 5) years

Age of father of Meena = (y + 5) years

(x + 5) * 3 = (y + 5). ....(1)

PUT y = 6 * x

(x + 5) * 3 = 6 * x + 5

3x + 15 = 6x + 5

3x = 10

x = 10/3

PUT x = 10/3 in equation 1,

(10/3 + 5) * 3 = y + 5

25/3 * 3 = y +5

y = 25 - 5

y = 20

Age of Meena = 10/3 years

Age of father of Meena = 20 years
