Step-by-step explanation:

let the number of oranges Sapna has be x

let the number of oranges Meena has be 2x ( twice as many oranges as Sapna)

2x + x = ( 4×12) - 3

3x = (48) - 3

3x = 45

x = 45 ÷ 3 = 15

The number of oranges Sapna has is 15 ( x =15)

The number of oranges Meena has is 30 (2x = 15 ×3)

Hope it helps.
