meena's mother is four times as old as meena . After five years her mother will be three times as old as she will be then . What are their present age?

Let Meena's present age be x

Her mother's age would be 4x


After five years Meena would be x + 5
mother would be 4x + 5


But given mother would be 3 times of her then age means 3( x + 5)


This means
$4x + 5 = 3(x + 5) \\ = > 4x + 5 = 3x + 15 \\ = > 4x - 3x = 15 - 5 \\ = > x = 10$
Meena's present age is x that is 10 yrs.



Her mother's present age = 4x = 4 × 10 = 40 yrs.
