Meena wants to deposit silver on iron spoon. She took Silver Nitrate in a solution and set up a circuit for electroplating .Which terminal the spoon should be connected to ?What material she should take for the other electrode ?

The process that Meena wants to setup is Electro plating .

So needs to follow the following precautions if silver is to be deposited on iron spoon:

1.  The metal object on which electroplating is to be done should be connected at cathode [ negative electrode] ---- so spoon at cathode

2. The metal whose layer is to be deposited should be connected to positive terminal [ anode] --- so silver metal electrode at anode.

3.A water soluble salt of metal to be deposited is taken at electrolyte ----so silver nitrate solution is taken as electrolyte.
