Meena wants to make a cloth mask by joining two equal size triangular pieces of sides 5cm,8cm and 5cm.how much cloth has she required??

{\huge{\red{\underline{\underline{Answer}}}}}

{\underline{\underline{Given}}}

Three sides of a triangle i.e.

  • 1st side=5cm
  • 2nd side=8cm
  • 3rd side=5cm

{\underline{\underline{To\ find:}}}

Measure of cloth she required=Area of 2 triangle of sdes 5,8 and 5cm=????

{\underline{\underline{Solution}}}

Here s=\frac{sum\ of\ all\ sides}{2}

=\frac{5+8+5}{2}

=\frac{18}{2}

=9

Area by herons formula= \sqrt{s{(s-a)}^{2}{(s-b)}^{2}{(s-c)}^{2}}

= \sqrt{9{(9-5)}^{2}{(9-8)}^{2}{(9-5)}^{2}}

=\sqrt{9×16×1×16}

=3×4×1×4

={48cm}^{2}

Area of cloth required =2×Area of triangle=2×48={96cm}^{2}
