Given :-

Meena went to a bank to withdraw Rs.2000.

She asked the cashier to give Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 notes only .

Meena got 25 notes in all .

Solution :-

Let the number of Rs 50 notes and Rs 100 notes be x and y.

According to the question,

⇒ x + y = 25 ... (i)

⇒ 50x + 100y = 2000 ... (ii)

Multiplying equation (i) by 50, we get

⇒ 50x + 50y = 1250 ... (iii)

Subtracting equation (iii) from equation (ii), we get

⇒ 50y = 750

⇒ y = 15

Putting this value in equation (i), we have

⇒ x = 10

               Hence, Meena has 10 notes of Rs 50 and 15 notes of Rs 100

\huge\bigstar\textsf\red{Answer:}

\textsf{Let number of 50 rupee notes be x and}

\textsf{number of 100 rupee notes be y.}

\textsf{According to the first condition}

\textsf{50x+100y=2000}

\therefore{\textsf{x+2y=40...(1)}}

\textsf{According to the second condition.}

\textsf{x+y=25...(2)}

\textsf{Subtract equation(2) from equation(1), we get}

\textsf{x+2y=40}

\textsf{-}

\textsf{x+y=25}

________________

\boxed{\textsf{y=15}}

\textsf{Substitute y=15 in equation(2), we get}

\textsf{x+15=25}

\textsf{x=25-15}

\boxed{\sf{\therefore{x=10}}}

\textsf{Meena received 10 notes of Rs 50 and 25}

\textsf{notes of Rs 100.}
