Missing data is added in the picture.

Solution:

Case of Megan.

  • 1st week: height = 4.5 inch
  • 2nd week: height = 7 inch
  • Rate of growth = (7 - 4.5) inch = 2.5 inch

Case of Suzanne.

  • 1st week: height = 5 inch
  • 2nd week: height = 7 inch
  • Rate of growth = (7 - 5) inch = 2 inch

NOTE: We have taken only two points to find the rates of growth of plants because the common difference is same for respective growths in a week.

This shows that Megan's plan grows at a faster rate of 2.5 inch per week.
