Megan has 5/6 of a box of raisins. She gave 1/2 of those raisins to her friend. Megan says she gave her friend 2/5 of the raisins to her friend. what is Megans mistake?

Out of which 1/2 of raisins, he gave to her friend,

Thus, the total raisins he gave to her friend = \frac{1}{2}\text{ of} \frac{5}{6}\text{ of box}

= \frac{5}{12} \text{ of box}

Since, Megan says she gave 2/5 of the box of raisins to her friend,

2/5 of the total  raisins = \frac{2}{5} \text{ of } \frac{5}{6}\text{ of the box} = \frac{1}{3} \text{ of the box}

But 5/12 ≠ 1/3

Hence, she has calculation mistake.
