Megan wants to see if mice that are fed food A or B grow at a faster rate. She measures the mass of the mice on day 1, then divides them into two groups based on the type of food they will be given. She feeds each group the same amount of food at the same time each day. Does Megan have a control group in this experiment?

Meghan does not have a control group in this process. A control experiment is established in order to minimize the effects of other variables that are not willfully included in the experiment.

The two groups may show different changes as a result of feeding them different diets but there will be nothing to compare these changes to. Therefore there should be rats feeding on the same fed he fed them earlier to act as the control group
