Given,

The space capacity of the boxes are = 4,5 and 7

To find,

The minimum number of chocolates that can be arranged in each of the boxes.

Solution,

We have to calculate the number of chocolates which is perfectly divisible by the capacity values of each of the boxes.

For this,we need to calculate the LCM or Least Common Multiple of the capacities of the given boxes.

LCM or Least Common Multiple :

1 | 4,5,7

_____

4,5,7

LCM = 1×4×5×7 = 140

Verification :

  1. 140 chocolates can be arranged in 35 boxes with the capacity of 4 chocolates. (35×4 = 140)
  2. 140 chocolates can be arranged in 28 boxes with the capacity of 5 chocolates. (28×5=140)
  3. 140 chocolates can be arranged in 20 boxes with the capacity of 7 chocolates. (20×7= 140)

Hence, the minimum number of chocolates is 140.
