Mehak wiped the leaves of a plant with oily cloth to remove all the dust and to give it a shiny look after a few days the plant died what could be the possible reason behind it

when Mehak wiped the leaves with oily cloth then the oil got deposited at the leaf surface and the stomata was unable to perform gaseous exchange and maybe was also unable to trap sunlight for photosynthesis, due to which the plant died.
