Men of religion only sometimes, been as tolerant as Ashoka. So as to change over individuals to their own confidence they have only occasionally scrupled to utilize power and psychological warfare and extortion.

The entire history is brimming with religious mistreatment and religious wars, and for the sake of religion and of God.

India, as well as the world, has been ruled by many kings of different religion and all tried to demean other religion except their own and spread their religion.

This happened with kings of all religions.

Ashoka was the only exception who tolerated & respected all religions and spread brotherhood amongst them.

That is why it is called that men of all religion were very rarely tolerant as of Ashoka.
