importance of Mandeleev periodic table is,

1. systematic study of elements.

2. prediction of new elements and their properties. he left space for the elements yet to be discovered.

limitations of Mendeleev periodic table.

1. position of hydrogen-
hydrogen has been placed in group 1 with alkali metals. but also resemble with halogen of groups 7 .

2. position of isotopes-
Mendeleev classification is based on atomic weight isotopes would have to place in different position due to their different atomic weight.

3. position of actinoids-

I hope its help you.

The limitations of Mendeleev's periodic table: In spite of certain advantages, the Mendeleev's period table has some defects too. Some of its limitations are listed below :-

⚫️POSITION OF HYDROGEN ➡ Position of hydrogen in the periodic table is uncertain. It has been placed in group 1A with alkali metals, but certain properties of hydrogen resemble those of halogens. So, it may be placed in the group of halogens as well.

⚫️POSITION OF ISOTOPES ➡ Isotopes are the atoms of the same element having different atomic masses. Therefore, according to Mendeleeve's period table, these should be placed at different places depending upon their atomic masses.

⚫️ANOMALOUS PAIRS OF ELEMENTS ➡ In certain pair of elements, the increasing order of atomic masses was not obeyed. In these, Mendeleeve's placed elements according to similarities in their properties and not in increasing order of atomic masses.
