I think that the causes are

1. The land of Kashmir- both want to have Kashmir as a part of their county

2.The second major reason for the hatred is because of the ideological differences between the two countries. One is based on religion first ideology and considers religion to be the most important factor of their existence while other is secular and promotes religious equality.
