secularism skipping religious beliefs out of public policy simple as that as far as an accountant at list
the Encyclopaedia definition is the clear separation of government institutions from religious Institutions it means having the right to be free from religious rule and teachings
exist together it allows people from different religions to exist together at the least common denominator ensuring all the ability and drive
it allows government to function on the basis of rational Disco rather than religious dogma
it allows more rights and freedoms to women for generally assigned in subservient role in many belief systems

four characteristics of secularism  are

1)the country does not favour or promote any particular religion

2) it doesn't driscriminate anybody on basis of religion

3)India is secular country where state doesnt uphold any religion

4)this has been ensured by incorporating freedom of religion in fundamental rights
