American scientists say that coal used as an energy resource in Asia and its pollution have played a role in reducing global warming.

He says that the widespread use of coal in Asian countries, especially China, created thick dark clouds of smoke.

When the sun's rays fell on the sheets of these clouds, they could not enter the atmosphere due to the layer of particles like 'aerosol sulfate' and got reflected back. In this way, the smoke clouds acted in reverse of the process of global warming and reduced the effect of temperature rise.

According to US government data, the use of coal in China has doubled between 2002 and 2007.
