Answer:- I really would only want one magical power: the power to fly.
I can think of nothing more exhilarating and enriching than to be able to simply lift off the ground and take off to anywhere in the world I cared to go. I would see sights that nobody has ever seen, or ever will see. I would be available to help people on the spur of the moment, anywhere, anytime.
And it's not the kind of power that would offer constant temptation to misuse, or which would (I suspect) inevitably lead to misery. I once asked my 10-year-old what she would want if she could have any magical power, and she said, "Invisibility." (I have heard the same answer many times before.) But please, spare me. Invisibility is basically the power to eavesdrop. I don't believe that would make one a happy person. And the same applies to many of the powers that magicians regularly display. Mindreading? Again, a glorified form of eavesdropping that would be a horrible temptation, and probably devastatingsooner or later. Being able to make things vanish or appear? An invitation to laziness. Being able to walk through walls? Why, so I can steal? Or just to avoid the immense difficulty of opening a door?
No, give me flight.
I'm reminded of one of my favorite old films, Mary Poppins. Bert, Mary, Jane, and Michael go up the chimney and land on the gable rooftops of London. They gaze out in amazement at the skyline at twilight. And Bert says, "There's the whole world at your feet. And who gets to see it but the birds, the stars and the chimney sweeps?"
Hope it help you
