Six types of text formating -:

(a) Font type -: A font is a collection of alphanumeric characters that share the same typeface, or design, and have similar characteristics. You can format text and numbers with font attributes—such as bolding, italics, or underlining—to enhance data to catch the reader's attention.

(b) Font size -: A font is often measured in pt (points). Points dictate the height of the lettering. There are approximately 72 (72.272) points in one inch or 2.54 cm. For example, the font size 72 would be about one inch tall, and 36 would be about a half of an inch.

(c) Bold-: Bold, bold face, or bold font is any text that is darkened to help emphasize a remark or comment. For example, this is bold text. If your browser supports bold text, the previous words "bold text" are in bold lettering.

(d) Italic -: A typeface with letters slanted slightly to the right. Italic type is used to emphasize words as well as for decoration. Most, but not all, fonts have an italic typeface.

(e) Underline -: Underlined text is commonly used to help draw attention to text. Today, underlines are commonly used to represent a hyperlink on a web page.

(f) Font color -: Color is sometimes used to convey meaning beyond the basic text. In a course syllabus, for example, you may use color to emphasize an important statement. Or, on a PowerPoint slide showing a multiple choice question, you might show the correct answer in green and color the incorrect answers in red.
