the Muslim League was against the decision of the Indian National Congress and so did not give any support to the programs of the National Congress during Quit India Movement and other functions.

also, when the proposal to divide Pakistan was refused to the Muslim League, it gave a call for direct action on 16th of August 1946 to achieve their independent Pakistan. Due to this, communal violence broke out and a large number of people were killed in India.

these were the two reasons why the Congress or the Government of India had to accept Pakistan as a different country .
